Survey is an essential part of any project; be it capital or maintenance dredging, beach recharge, land reclamation, or maritime construction. Surveys are required from the conception of a project through to completion, and often way beyond. It is essential that surveys be undertaken correctly to meet the needs of all involved and enable the project to progress efficiently. It is our experiences that without adequate controls the results of surveys are often inadequate and can lead to project delays. The Partnership has years of experience in producing, supervising and managing survey contracts. Contracts are tailored to individual clients and projects. Budgets for survey can be provided at any stage.

In order to understand the hydraulic and geomorphological characteristics onsite for our clients, the first step will often be the measurement of bathymetry, currents and waves. The Partnership manages measurement campaigns involving the full range of hydrographic survey (i.e. current measurements, ADCP, turbidity monitoring as well as bathymetry), land survey, LIDAR, site investigation and sediment sampling as required to define as fully as possible the local environment. The data so obtained enables modelling of hydraulics and geomorphology. We manage specialist contractors and consultants on behalf of our Clients. Data from modelling is needed to justify and defend the selection of new disposal sites, etc. From a basis of understanding the processes, suitable engineering approaches can be designed to suit the client’s needs.
