The British Standards are the standards produced by the BSI Group and establish a standard of quality for a range of goods and services. These standards are used internationally.
Anthony D Bates Partnership (ADBP) LLP produced under contract the original British Standard for Dredging and Land Reclamation (BS6349-5) in 1991 under BSI committee supervision. This standard covers all aspects of dredging activities including:
- Site Investigations;
- Considerations effecting Dredging Works;
- Characteristics and Selection of Dredging Plant;
- Land Reclamation and Beach Nourishment;
- Rock Dredging;
- Environmental Considerations;
- Measurement Methods.
Although the information contained within the document is still generally relevant and applicable as it has been almost 24 years since its publication a revision has been commissioned. The revision will ensure all guidance and data contained is currently pertinent and accurate and new technologies and established best practices will be included.
